- About FOSC -A TRUE SOCCER ACADEMY
Located in the heart of Fairfield, the Fairfield Optimist Soccer Club (FOSC) draws soccer players from the northwest areas of Greater Cincinnati. Since its inception in 1978, FOSC has aimed to provide youth players with positive experiences and growth opportunities to develop their skills, confidence and personalities for the soccer arena and beyond.
Hosting boys and girls teams from ages U8-U19, FOSC teams participate in the Cincinnati United Soccer League (CUSL),the Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League (BPYSL) and other leagues. FOSC also hosts the annual Mid-American Soccer Classic (MASC) tournament each spring. In the Fall of 2007 FOSC launched a successful youth program; The ACADEMY by FOSC. The whole focus of the ACADEMY is to introduce children ages 5 - 8 to soccer in a positive, fun, and professionally administered environment.
Director of Coaching, Craig Rhodis had developed a network of highly qualified trainers in all age groups, players are provided an environment to improve their basic soccer skills, increase their understanding of the game and develop positive relationships with teammates, trainers and coaches. FOSC is also proud of one of the finest winter training programs in area housed in the state of the art,Gametime Training Center. Gametime is the "Winter Home" of FOSC. FOSC’s President, Board Members, Director of Coaching and coaching and training staff are dedicated to providing each player with the tools and opportunities that will enhance players’ experiences on and off the field.
FOSC works in cooperation with the Fairfield Optimist, a non-profit service organization that works with the youth in Fairfield, Hamilton and Indian Springs, and Fairfield Optimist Soccer Association (FOSA), the S.A.Y. recreational soccer program for the Fairfield area.

Craig, a Fairfield High School graduate, went on to become the all-time leading scorer at Thomas Moore College. He currently plays professionally for the Cincinnati Kings (PASL indoor). His previous professional playing experience includes Cincinnati Cheetahs, Cincinnati Riverhawks, Lafayette Swampcats, Cincinnati Silverbacks, Portland Pythons and the Utah Freezz. Craig currently holds a USSF A coaching license and has an extensive coaching background which includes Thomas Moore College and professionally with the Lafayette Lightning, the Cincinnati Excite and currently with the Cincinnati Kings professional indoor team. Craig was recently named Head Coach of the United States National Arena Soccer Team. Craig is extremely excited about helping soccer in the community where he grew up and has made tremendous strides in player development within the FOSC soccer program!
